George Lucas directs a scene in Game of Thrones

George Lucas came out of retirement when he visited the season 8 set of Game of Thrones. The Producers at first thought it was a joke when he called asking to visit the set, then were shocked when he showed up. Game of Thrones is one of George’s favorite new shows. He ended up directing the scene in the opening when John Snow and Daenerys show back up in Winterfell.

The featurette shows Lucas working alongside episode director David Nutter, who described the experience as “so cool for me”.

Lucas can is also seen giving Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) and Kit Harington (Jon Snow) some guidance for their performances. “No direction for you,” he tells Harington. “I don’t really care about you. I don’t care what happens to you.”
